July Blog Challenge!

Hi! Fran here with July's blog challenge! I think one of my major weaknesses in my scrapping is using a lot of photos. I don't know what to do with them half of the time, plus with so many photos, I'm sometimes at a loss with how to embellish them. And I like embellishing! Otherwise it's just a collage of photos! :) So my challenge to you this month is to use a bunch of photos on a layout. You can cheat like me and use Wendy's template set, Be Inspired - Heather v2 templates by WM[squared] Designs! You certainly don't need that many photos, but lets see at least 4 on your page! Here are the rules:

1. Create a page with 4 or more photos on it.
   
2. Use products by WM[squared] Designs on your page
   
3. Post your page in Wendy's ScrapMatters gallery
   
4. Post your page before July 26th in THIS THREAD at SM. If you do not post in the thread, we will not know you've participated!
   
5. One winner will win a gift certificate to Wendy's shop.

June Blog Challenge

It's already June and anyone who knows Wendy knows what that means - it's her birthday very soon! So for this month's challenge we're going to help her celebrate by creating a LO using a recipe challenge. A Birthday Cake recipe that is! So help me celebrate Wendy's birthday and play along with this challenge. And don't forget - you're entered to win a gift certificate to Wendy's Store just for completing a LO!

Birthday Recipe:
1. I like to have a starting point with my cakes and typically start with a mix. So for your starting point PICK A TEMPLATE
2. Now for our cake mix we usually need some eggs. So go ahead and ADD SOMETHING ROUND TO YOUR LO
3. The mix usually needs some oil and water and to be honest I can't seem to ever add either of those without making a mess. Let's ADD A SPLATTER SOMEWHERE ON YOUR PAGE and make a little mess.
4. Once our cake is all done baking and cooling we need to decorate it and make it pretty. ADD WHATEVER ELEMENTS YOU WANT TO PRETTY UP YOUR PAGE
5. Now a birthday cake isn't a birthday cake without some sprinkles. ADD A SCATTER OF SOME SORT TO YOUR PAGE
6. Now to finish it off we need to add a big Happy Birthday! to the top. ADD A LARGE TITLE TO YOUR LO
7. Then it's time for the big presentation! FINISH OFF WITH SHADOWING AND ANY FINISHING DETAILS AND UPLOAD TO WENDY'S GALLERY AT SCRAPMATTERS!

The fine print:
- make a LO following the recipe above using mostly products from WM[squared] Designs.
- Upload your LO to Wendy's GALLERY at ScrapMatters.
- Link up you LO in THIS thread at ScrapMatters so we know you played along!

That's it! You have until June 28th to complete your LO and get it uploaded to be entered in the drawing for the gift certificate. So get going and get scrapping - and be sure to come back on the 29th to find out who the winner is!

May Blog Challenge

I can't believe that it is May!! With the weather we've been having here in Utah, you wouldn't believe that it's May, or even Spring for that matter. For this month's challenge, I have created a template inspired by a layout I made, "My Pedigree Chart!" Feel free to make a pedigree chart of your own or change it up and doing something else creative with it!

By playing along you not only get a completed layout and a free template, but you will also be entered into a drawing for a gift certificate to Wendy's Shop!

So here's the rules:
1. Download the template HERE (updated with .png HERE)
2. Make a layout using the template and mostly WM[Squared] products
3. Upload your page to Wendy's gallery
4. Leave a link to your layout in THIS thread at ScrapMatters

It's that simple! You have until May 24th to be entered in the drawing. So come back on May 25th to see who the big winner of this months blog challenge is! It just might be you!

March Challenge - Layering

Hello ladies,

Happy Sunday, hope you have had a great weekend so far. It's Jen here today to bring you the monthly challenge on Wendy's CT blog. As most of you know I love LAYERING, so I thought I would challenge you all on your layering skills. And to help you get started I created this awesome layering background template. I can't wait to see all the different layouts created using this background.

and to knock it up a notch I want to see the following items layered on top of this:

- at least one picture, but more are always welcome
- 2 or more ribbons
- 2 or more flowers
- 2 or more buttons
- word strip or word art
- at least 2 alphas

February 2011 Challenge

Wowza, it's the first Wednesday of February - already! And you know what that means? It's time for this months challenge!!!

Since it is the month of Valentine's and love..... the challenge this month is to create a Valentine Card using some goodies from Wendy's Shop. I created the sample using her new and really beautiful "Happy Anniversary" kit.

Then upload a pic of your card to the WM [squared] Designer Gallery at ScrapMatters with "WM2FEB" in the keyword field (that's gonna help me make sure I see all your creations!). At the end of the month, we'll pick one lucky random winner for an awesome prize from Wendy!

What's that you said? You're a scrapbooker, but you've never made a card? Well to help get you started on this challenge, I've made a template that you can use if you'd like. A challenge and a freebie!! Double score!! You don't have to use the template, just consider it my Valentine present to you! December Challenge

Happy Wednesday/ December 1st! The hustle and bustle of the season is officially underway, however my challenge for you today is to take some time and scrap! We all want more time for that right?! So your challenge today is to make a layout of a tradition you and your family celebrates during this holiday season. I scrapped some pictures of my son last year throwing reindeer dust in the air. We have the tradition to put out cookies and milk for Santa, but we don't forget about the reindeer. We sprinkle some reindeer dust (glitter and oats) on our front step so the reindeer can find our house in the dark and while they wait for Santa they have some oats to eat. It is a fun thing for my kids.

Now remember that you have the whole month to complete the challenge and you have to use at least 85-90% of wm [squared] products. She has tons of holiday themed kits in her store so be sure to check them out. I used her new collab with Graham Like the Cracker- Believe.

Nov Challenge - Lift ME!

Sept CT Blog Challenge

Hello and welcome to the 1st day of September 2010! September is month for many great things but one of the best is that it's Women's Friendship Month --- so for the challenge this month we want you to find a pic of (or with) your bestie and scrap it. It can be your best friend IRL or online...either way is perfect with us.

Here is a little inspiration for you to get your creative juices flowing!

August 2010 Blog Challenge

Welcome to the August 2010edition of the Monthly Blog Challenge.  If you play along, you can be entered to win a $4.00 gift certificate to the WM[squared] store at ScrapMatters. 

Please remember to use at least 80% of WM[squared] materials for entering this challenge.

Have you ever heard of Road Map to Scrap?  Well it's a fabulous challenge held at ScrapMatters and it's the inspiration behind this month's challenge.  I will be giving 8 instructions and look forward to seeing where it takes your layout.

1. Let me see some negative space (templates are ok, especially if you're white space challenged as I am)

2. As we are now at the 1/2 way point of the summer, I want to see a summer theme- summer kit, summer pics, summer journaling.  As long as it's summer related it's golden.

3. Multi photos-- this means more than one.  It could be the same picture, it could be different pictures, it could be different stylings on the same pictures- that's all up to you.

4. A hanging element (pretty self explanitory)

5. Wordart in the title- this can be wordart mixed with a font or just wordart alone

6. Show me stitches- hopefully they're not from a summer time accident.

7. Elements from nature- water, sun, whales!

8. Date, journal, and shadows- this can be one, two or all three.

Most of all have a great time and enjoy. You can leave a link to your layout here or join us at Scrapmatters.

Are You Up for a Challenge?

Hi everyone, This is Lori writing to you today! I am one of Wendy's new ct gals and this will be my first blog post here and I am very excited to be bringing you a challenge! I love challenges because they get me thinking about something that I wouldn't necessarily do or try. Sometimes it is a simple matter of looking at something in a new way so today I thought it would be fun to do a twisted lift!

I had such a great time looking through my fellow teammate Jewelle's gallery and this layout was so striking to me.


I love the look and the feel of the whole thing. So I thought how about lifting it but giving it a bit of a twist too. Now I want you to do the same thing! Take this layout- twist it, rotate it, give it a spin and make your own. Use Wendy's designs, Link us up here on the blog and one of you will win a $4 gc to her store! How is that for a cool twist!

March Challenge!

Heidi here with your March challenge! I don't know about you, but I have been keeping my camera in my bag during the winter. So, I want you to dust off your camera and take some action shots. I want to see more than 3 pictures that are in a row of something. I realize not all of us have DSL cameras, so do your best and then scrap it! Link us up to your page in the comment section and all entries using WM[squared] products will be entered to win a gift certificate from Wendy's store! So what are you waiting for?!? February Blog Challenge!!

It's challenge time!! and I'm so excited to be hosting WM[squared]'s blog challenge this month!

I immediately knew exactly what I wanted to do for this challenge....a lift!

Jendavey is one of Wendy's amazing CT members and I have been itching to lift some of her creations! So, for this challenge all you have to do is head over to Jen's gallery at ScrapMatters, choose one of her fabulous layouts to lift, and create it using at least 80% of WM[squared]'s products! It is that simple! Once you have finished your layout, post it in ScrapMatters' gallery under WM[squared]'s designer gallery. Then head on over to this forum thread and leave your linked image and the linked image of the layout you decided to lift! You have until February 23rd to complete your layout and then I will randomly pick a winner and it will be announced here on February 24th!

Oh My, Oh My, Oh Patterns!! I'm seeing stripes and stars, paisleys and swirls, and polka dots galore. This challenge is simple: Use 3+ patterned papers, make sure 80% of the layout is using WM[squared] products, and post your layout in this Scrap Matters thread by January 26, 2010.
